About Me
Hi, I’m Lindsey! I am a filmmaker, editor, and animator based in Washington, DC.
I discovered my passion for documentary filmmaking during my undergraduate study at the University of Pittsburgh, where I earned a BA in film production. I am now pursuing an MFA in film and media arts from American University, focusing on social impact and environmental filmmaking.
For me, documentary is a form of activism. I’ve made films about gun violence prevention, mental health advocacy, queer pride, and environmental justice.
I love being on set as a cinematographer, director, or sound recordist, but my biggest passion is post-production, especially documentary editing. Being able to wrangle a chaotic mass of raw footage into a compelling story with polished visuals and sound is my absolute favorite thing about filmmaking.
In addition to editing and post-producing, I also specialize in animation. Over the last year, I’ve developed a unique animation style that enables me to tell stories in a new way.
When I’m not working on film projects, I enjoy teaching filmmaking to kids, teens, and college students. I am a member of the Maryland State Teaching Artist Roster and have taught film at summer camps for years. As a graduate teaching assistant at AU, I’m getting the chance to teach at more advanced levels.
