Friends of Duke Lake is my thesis film for my MFA at American University, where I studied social and environmental documentary. It tells the story of a rural Appalachian community’s twenty-year fight to restore their beloved state park after its lake was destroyed by coal mining. The film is currently in its festival run and impact campaign.
